Happy Holidays to You and Yours!!

I thought I'd share my digital card with my online friends this year.

We had a lovely Thanksgiving yesterday and will be hosting our own on Saturday.

Already been Black Friday shopping and have some work to do with some lovely KF and then a nap. Have a lovely weekend!

Photoshop Text Box Tutorial

I uploaded a tutorial on how I do my text boxes using PS on the Scrapbook Trends Blog. I really prefer this method to the MS Word text boxes. Just so much EASIER to manipulate text. :) Just thought I'd share.
Just a Quick Note!

Feeling under the weather but hopefully on the mend--sinus gunk. :(

I was browsing today after my doctor's appointment and came across this GORGEOUS camera bag. I've been looking for one, and I LOVE it! Just wanted to share. :)

Here's a peek at the interior of the black one, oh the loveliness!!

You can find these at Jo Totes. Now off to take a much needed nap.
I Hated It :(

I'm so sad to say it, but I hated the "New Moon" movie. Not because they didn't do a good job, but because I prefer a strong female character; and I don't like the whole "I am going to curl up into a ball because I can't live without a man" theme.

Stephanie is a fabulous writer, and I loved that. But even her other book was the same way--weak female character, needs a man to flourish.

Bring on a strong girl who tells the dumb vampire to shut up and either get his act together or she's moving on. LOL!
OOoh Guess What?!!

This went up today!! :) So fun!

November: Year of You Class!

Today my 2Peas "Year of You" class went live here at 2Peas. I used my photo editing program to create a photo grid and then added journaling before printing it out. That lovely butterfly is a rub-on from Jenni Bowlin. It also comes in silver. Sigh!

Are you in a book club? I have a wonderful group of friends that come together once a month to discuss (or argue) about a book. Last night I hosted and we had read "Cold Sassy Tree." It was a great discussion with lots of varying opinions. I love that! These girls makes me think, make me want to be more educated, make me want to try new things. I love them dearly, and I look forward to our group every month. Next month we are reading "The Bronze Bow" in time for the holidays. I'm looking forward to it. If you are in a book club or enjoy reading, I'd love to hear what you're currently reading.
So we put up our two trees (and I've already blew the fuse on one room in the house with my decorating skills--LOL!), and I wrapped a few presents for the kids because I enjoy torturing them like that, and we decorated a gingerbread house. Can I just tell you how much I'm loving this early holiday celebrations? I already feel so much less stressed.
And I can celebrate Thanksgiving with my tree up just as well with it not up. I'm hosting my family on Saturday this year, and I'm excited for the to see the tree. Yes, I have a sickness, I know. ;)

So who's going to see New Moon this weekend? Fess up! Yeah, I would love to; but I REALLY hate crazy, pushy, rude crowds so I think I'll pass (unless my sweet husband "makes" me go). He's so good to put up with all the things I like (he even cleaned my kitchen on his own without being asked for my book club last night--he's the best!!)

Have a great vampire and wolf filled weekend and for those of you who don't enjoy those kind of characters . . . I love you anyway. LOL! ;)

Ho, Ho, Ho!!

Oh my goodness, I have the Christmas spirit and BAD this year. So I'm giving into it because with the holidays I sometimes don't know what I'll be in the mood for. Tonight we are putting up the Christmas tree. Do I care that it's not even Thanksgiving yet? Not one bit. :) I'm doing what makes me happy this year because when I'm happy the family's happy. LOL!

I got a couple of snow photos of the kids yesterday. I'm posting one above. So lovely!! (That could be contributing to my holiday fever as well). The really good ones I'm saving for holiday cards and projects. But I'm already dying to do another photo shoot. The kids, well at least Kate, actually enjoyed it.

Ok, now for the gritty part of this post. I am going to enable you a bit. Ready? Here are some items I'm swooning over so I thought I'd share them with you as well. :)

Ok, this just got uploaded at 2Peas and I already have the Making Memories version, but the scallop edge on this "Collectable Cupboard from Doodlebug" is killing me!!
And there is this tall cabinet by Doodlebug that is also DARLING:

If you love owls, then you will NEED this set from 2Peas:

Do you need to make a bunch of cute tags for gifts? You will LOVE this digi kit by Chris Ford:

I absolutely LOVE Ali Edwards' handwriting so I'm adding this stamp set to my wish list this holiday season:

Ok, other items on my wish list are a few delicious goodies from Pottery Barn. Oh the magic!! How about this killer cubby? Oh I NEED this so bad! ;)

Or this darling advent calendar (check 2Peas for other types of advent calendars):

And I'd use these for buttons, but you could totally do this with a Silhouette Machine and Vinyl. PB thinks of the most awesome things.

Alrighty then, so what are you drooling over. Care to link me? My Christmas wish list could use some bulking up. :)

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!

We got snow for the better part of yesterday and it looks like it's doing it again. Lovely! And this year, I'm ok with it. (Now ask me in February if I still love it, and we'll talk.) I think I'll do a kid photo shoot this morning (if they're willing to cooperate).
Today the 2Peas Mid-Month Garden went up, and I think it's one of the most inspiring ever. So many gorgeous layouts.
Our theme was still stickers, and here is my take on that (using up a BUNCH of American Crafts Flair stickers). You can see the layout and the products used here.

And then we had a Thanksgiving/Fall layout, so I did one about my friends and family (howdy, Sarah). You can see that layout's products here.

But I HAVE to share some of the other layouts that just rocked my world this morning:

* Sweet Pea by Kandis Smith (oh, I just love her stamping and product mixes)!

* Ethan's Dinosaurs by Nichol Magourik (man, she works a 2 pager like nobody's business)!

* Amy Grendell's "Just the 2 of Us" (I'm dying to be in a warm, tropical place.)

* Wendy Bretz's ode to "Black Friday" (are you going to brave the crowds this year?)

* Mary MacAskill's "Grandparents" layout (She really can work the textures.)

* Stephanie Dagan's masterpiece here (I just love her beautiful style!)

I get to work with the nicest, most talented women. I feel super grateful for them all!

Feeling Cultured

Last night Kate and I went to the local high school production of "Beauty and the Beast." The lead: Belle, had an astonishingly amazing voice. On key and projected beautifully. It was Kate's first play, and I think she's hooked. She just can't get over that the main characters kissed. Hee, hee. The one downer . . . sitting in front of a bunch of giggling, chatty teenagers. I just wanted to reach back and tell them to "shush" but in stronger words. ;)

Katelyn has decided that somewhere along the line some part of their brain falls out and makes them act like that. I think she's right.

One overprotective mother moment last night: when a very cute high school guy was checking out my daughter. I thought my heart would stop. She's only 13!!!! I know she's cute, but NO ONE is allowed to know that yet. She's going to a school dance tonight--her first. Do you think she'd notice if her Dad and I snuck in and watched over her. LOL!
Digital Holiday Cards

I gave a little tutorial over on the ST Blog today on how to do these if you're interested. (added link for those who are interested)

You can make a 5X7 card like this one, which you can purchase and download here at 2Peas:

Or you can make a 4X8 card like this one, which is by Sande Krieger which you can dowload and purchase here:

Digital cards can be uploaded to any photo website and be printed in as many quantities as you'd like. So very easy and fun!

Sometimes Being a Girl Doesn't Rock So Much

Hormones and I don't always get along, and lately I've felt so grouchy and kinda depressed, and I'm like "Why? I love my life. I have cool things to do today so why do I feel like this?" It's annoying and sometimes exhausting feeling yucky this way with no real explanation. Total side note, but I knew you would understand. ;)

Yesterday I started a new class at 2Peas. It's a DIY Holiday gift class that I'm hosting with Jen Jockish (she's so awesome). She created a very cool vintage looking frame for holding gift cards, which you can drool over here.

I created three gifts for neighbors using items you can probably find around your house but decorate all cute and stuff. You can download the pdf here for mine.

I also wanted to point out some new calls from Scrapbook Trends Magazine. One is for a new idea book, which you can check out here. And here is the current magazine call. Puh-lease submit!! I love seeing your work in print. So fun!! The new idea book is for all kinds of crafting so let's see what you've got!

And here's one more Little Yellow Bicycle layout to share with you. One to get me started on my day. Today I'm playing with new Karen Foster product, writing a ST blog entry, and working on a layout for 2Peas. Should be a busy yet fun day!

This layout uses the Family Elements tablet, which you can purchase here at 2Peas.
Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day!!

We're having a bunch of chats and free digital kit giveaways today at 2Peas. Check out the Digital Message Board Forum here to participate.

While I'm chatting I'm also playing with more LYB stuff. These little one pagers just make me happy and really speak to my style. This first one is of Joey. Love this photo. His little half smile is just perfection! Miss you today and everyday, bud! This uses the Pregnancy (yeah, I know--funny for this layout) Album Elements tablet, which you can purchase here.

I don't know if you've noticed, but I've started incorporating Silhouette Die Cutting shapes on a lot of my layouts. This machine is awesome. And they have a great blog you SHOULD follow here. They are giving away a $50 download card for becoming a fan. Go do it!!

I used the following shapes on this first layout:

Are you getting the Scrapbook Trends newsletter? How about I twist your arm about getting it? LOL! I did my second write-up for them and had this layout published with it:

You can sign up for the newsletter here. You can it in the green box on the screen.

I need to do one more LYB project, but I'm going to take a break and enjoy this warm weather before it leaves us. It's in the mid 60's today and gorgeous!!

Have a great weekend!

I Hit a Wall!

Yesterday that is. After a huge church activity, meetings and more meetings, and lots of work, I just had nothing left to give. I just hung out on the couch and did pretty much nothing productive.

Today I feel re-energized and ready to face the world again. LOL! I think I just need a break every once in a while.

I played around with some Little Yellow Bicycle goodies. So much fun. You know I love them so I won't go on and on and on about how much I enjoy their products. ;) Just saw the catalog that should hit stores sooner rather than later. Big sigh of happiness!! Just wait!

The first layout uses the "Dog" Album Elements tablet. No pets here, but still a blast to use!

And the second one is dedicated to my sister, Heather. Isn't she a hottie? I am blessed with beautiful and loving siblings. I am one lucky girl!! I only wished they lived closer instead of California, Alaska and several cities away. This layout uses the "Girlfriends" tablet. :)

And now I am off to recapture the laundry and eat some lunch. :)

Two Peas is hiring digital/hybrid designers. You can see all the details here. I love working for 2Peas and want to spread the love!

The Garden went up on Sunday. It's been crazy busy here. Brett and I flew in from Savannah on Sunday, October 25th and he flew to San Francisco the next day and got back late Friday night. And then he had surgery yesterday. It was a day surgery, but after losing Joey I'm so much more worried about those things. It went well. And he's already out and about and doing great. I'm so glad but coming down from all that stress has left me EXHAUSTED!!

I had a few things in the garden that I thought I'd share. One is a sticker layout using chipboard stickers. I love this photo of the hubby. You can see the supplies here.

My other sticker one uses a bunch of letter stickers. You can see more details on that one here.

And then for my Product Focus, I worked with Making Memories "Love Notes" rub-ons. I liked the pink ones and created a hybrid layout that I could add them to. It's another layout about the hubby. More on this one here.

Just some fun stuff. I love creating. It just makes me happy!

Today I have to go pick up my sewing machine from the Sewing Machine Doctor. I've been without it for two weeks now, and it's KILLING me. I didn't realize how attached I am to it. It will be good to have it back in the craft room where it belongs. So happy sewing to all of you. ;)
