How are you changing your life:

Or how is the economy affecting you?

This economy is so wonky (is that a word?)! It has me thinking about choices I make, and they are thoughts I should have been having all along.

In order to cut back and take control of our spending in this day and age of $4+ per gallon of gas, we are having a Family Home Evening (a night where our family gathers for activities and a lesson) on creative spending and cutting back.

So I wanted to ask you what you are doing to save $$.

Some things I have been thinking about is the amount of driving that I do. Surely we can walk to nearly everything in town. When I was first married, we only had one car and I did a LOT of walking. That's probably why I weighed less then.

I am also thinking about how to eat better and more economically (I'm totally wishing we'd been able to put the garden in this year--fresh corn and tomatoes. Need I say more?)

So what are you doing?

(I'd also like to say that we are purposely not putting in our yard to "go green" but in this case it's all about the economics. Hopefully next year!)

Purging Round #3

This time my husband asked me to get rid of a bunch of movies so I listed more of those than scrapbook supplies, but I did list a few things for scrapbookers. :)

There's this VERY cool set from Autumn Leaves:

And if you love Basic Grey, then you'll love this Two Scoops stamp set:

And this one is very cool too: And if you want to start early on your Holiday projects, then there's this cute set from My Sentiments Exactly:

Brett is back in California this week at the new job. :) I'm still a bit paralyzed when he's gone, but I'm working on it. I have gobs to get done this week and want it done before he gets back. Wish me luck! :)

Feeling a Little Blue

I'm not sure why, but I've been really blue the past while. I really love my life and have a great deal of gratitude for my children, my home, my sweet husband; but I'm still feeling a bit down. I don't know if it's because I'm run down, things are too chaotic. I don't know. (It could even be the rainy weather we've been having.) Whatever the case . . . I'm TIRED of it!! So I thought I'd post some layouts that make me happy. Maybe that will help. :)

Here's one that I love because I love little embellishments like metal charms, and bottlecap things:

Here's one I love because it uses stamping. I wanted to portray the feeling of tying shoes, so I poked holes in the little word tags and thread Scrapper's Floss through them and then tied them to brads.

And finally, another two-pager. For some reason when I do 2 pages, it's almost always 8 1/2 X 11". I don't know why. Maybe that's because I started with that size and revert back without thinking about it. Whatever the case, I love this layout because it reminds me of a time when we came together as a family to prepare our move back to Utah.

Well, here's hoping that my blues will lift and all will be well again. Brett gets home tonight. Woohoo!! It will be nice to have everyone under one roof again. Have a great weekend!

It's My Anniversary!!
Yep, 15 years for Brett and I. And my sweetheart sent me a dozen roses (as he is out of town starting a new job this week). I was so surprised because I thought we were celebrating when he got back on Saturday. They are gorgeous and make me miss him even more.
Thanks, babe!! :)
Purging #2

Ok, round two. ;) Ready?

I have a few more stamp sets this go around.

This is a Paper Salon flower set and it has been used. You can find it here.

And I loved this Doodlebug All Occasion set, but I could never bring myself to open it and use it. Just packaged too darn cute. You can find this one here.

And I don't drink tea or coffee but this is a way cute set.

I received this SEI kit for some work, but I already had the boy version and kept that one instead. This set is called Chickadee, and it's adorable!!

There are a few more items listed (and a few relists that didn't sell at cheaper prices). :) Again, for those of you not interested -- look away. ;) Hope you're having a great week. It's gorgeous here today so I've got my fingers crossed.

BLOGGER!!!

I get so aggravated when I type up something and it doesn't post. ARG!!! :( Remind me to save this one, K?!!

Just wanted to post a few things I've been working on.

The layout up top was recently published in Scrapbook Trends. I love when I sit down to scrapbook and I come across photos like these. Makes me so happy (and a bit sad when I finish a layout).

Here's a graduation card for any graduates out there. (This was in the latest Cards Magazine.)

And finally a card for my monthly Deja Views DT assignment, using "Global Views" which is available at Michael's stores everywhere. :)

Have a great weekend everyone!
Purging!!
(Version 1)

I have accumulated either through work or personal means several extra items that I am now going to get rid of. It will take me some time to organize all of it, but I thought some of my blog readers would like to see what I have. So I am listing a few of the things on Ebay this week, and I will link you here in case you're interested.

If you're not, please disregard. :)

If you're in need of this:

Then you can find it here: Pink Cropadile.

If you want a beautiful set of some gorgeous new SEI papers/embellies:

Then you can find it here: SEI Jolie Chocolat set.

Or if you are preparing for a graduate in your family, there's this:

The Graduation set is here.

And finally a few stamps:

You can find the Petal Stamp set here.

Or if you need a pretty, formal alphabet stamp set:

The alphabet stamp set is here.

And I won't bombard you with any more photos, but there is a Technique Tuesday Damask stamp listed and a Kitchen Sink stamp set as well. (I've added the links here.)

Hope you have a great weekend!

Here's to May!

I really hope May is a much calmer month. April was full of deadlines, crazy emotions, and big days. (Although I'm looking at my May calendar right now and thinking "Whoa, that's still a lot of big things going on.")

How did you spend National Scrapbook Day? I celebrated on Friday over at http://www.creativexpress.com/, and then I checked out http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/ for as much as I could. I should have planned better and set aside some more time. I didn't scrapbook or create one thing, but hey, I did clean my scrapbook room. And guess what? It has a floor!! Who knew!

How many of you are winding up the school year this month? In Georgia we went into June sometimes. Here we end at the end of May. We've got summer sign-ups and school field trips and programs this entire month. I'm trying to keep up.

Here are a couple of things I created for my Deja Views Design Team:

This sad face on my beautiful daughter breaks my heart every time I see it. She's trying hard not to cry, but sometimes she wears her emotions on her sleeve. I hate to see her sad. EVER!

The second layout is using the photo of my youngest used in a post below. I love the photo. He came in my office and stuck his finger in my face to show me that he was wearing his CTR ring (Choose the Right). Made me laugh, and I snapped a photo of it.

And finally, a card using the Zach's Life line from The Little Yellow Bicycle (a division of Deja Views). Loving stamping right now. So much!!

Well, here's hoping you are having a pleasant start to your May and that it continues that way. (I've got my fingers crossed. LOL!)
Because I Know You're a Winner . . .

Stop by Creativexpress for a National Scrapbook Day celebration today! (Yeah, NSD is actually tomorrow, but CX offices aren't open tomorrow.)

You could win prizes by the hour, participate in challenges, and place an order of $50 or more to be entered into a drawing for a Cricut machine.

I'll be hanging out there on and off today and tomorrow so I hope to see you there.

(Busy today? Most of the challenges go until Sunday evening so you have NO EXCUSE not to join in on the fun!)
